MLC Open Forum

Sorry folks, I got nothing but taxes on my mind and it’s eating up all my time…

So – Open Forum on MLC

Glad everyone enjoyed the party on Saturday night.  Big mahalo to NKHEA and IKHEA for setting up the venue.  I think we kind of took over the place.  LOL

btw, that was Ukuhead and family that was there – not Ocean Lover.

Okay, back to taxes…

KAN: Thanks for the song ❗ 😀

M: will keep you in our prayers while we are in Vegas ❗

  2. M says:

    Guud evening MLCers!

Got to get an ultra sound in the morning and surgery next Tuesday.

  3. KAN says:

One more for LK’s good luck in Vegas:

    “Wheel of Fortune,” Kay Starr

  4. LINDA KATO says:

    ankles: How optimistic ❗ 😀

  5. ankleBYTERS says:

Your son recovered with a great second round score ❗

I’ll bee waiting to hug the next MEGA BUCKS winner ❗

  6. LINDA KATO says:

DIO: Thank you ❗ Thank you ❗ 😀 My favorite songs to get me in the Vegas mood ❗ 😀

4G: Yes, my MIL gave me her tiny green ceramic frog for good luck ❗ 😀

  7. 4G says:

@LK – good luck in Vegas! Got your frogs? 😉

  8. LINDA KATO says:

Good afternoon DIO and everyone ❗ 😀

Countdown to Vegas. DIO would do me a favor and post
the song Viva Las Vegas for me by Elvis Presley and the song sung by Kenny Rogers, that tells you gotta know when to hold em, fold em and walk away….. I forgot the title to that song. Thanks ❗ 😀

  9. DIO says:

    Good afternoon everybody!! 😀

  10. LINDA KATO says:

    Ynaku: so true ❗ 😀

  11. Ynaku says:

@lk, what comes around, goes around. Need to be good neighbors.

  12. LINDA KATO says:

On Saturday morning (the day of the party) at 7AM, hubby saw our neighbor putting air in his tires but his car door slammed. Then he was trying to open his car doors but had locked his keys in the car for his house as well as his car. He went to several neighbors house to ask for help but no one was up that early and didn’t answer the door. Hubby went outside to ask if he needed help and gave him our phone to use to call his wife for her to call Triple A to come and assist him. Minutes later Triple A’s tow truck came, used a tool and opened his car door for him. He was so happy. The next day our neighbor walks in our garage with several packages from Times Super Market, apples, oranges and bananas ❗ More than hubby and I can eat before we leave for Vegas so I’ll pass some of the fruit off to our other neighbor who drove me to the hospital when hubby had surgery one day. So nice to have neighbors we can rely on ❗ We didn’t expect anythng but a thank you for helping him with his dilemma ❗

  13. LINDA KATO says:

Ynaku and M: Congratulations to your children for doing so well in school, read the Honolulu Star article, what a fun event for your boys. Glad they both did well ❗ Proud papas ❗ 😀

  14. LINDA KATO says:

Seawalker: thanks for your good wishes ❗ I’m really thinking strategy this time so I keep some of the house money I win ❗ 😀

  15. Ynaku says:

Ha ha M, I would go just for the fuud. No can go wrong with free room too. But the PRESSURE!

  16. Ynaku says:

Masako and M. Good experience for the kids. They need to use the latest Social Media designs in their ads. That’s what grabbed the attention of the judges. They were impressed. Now with smartphones, iPAD etc, they need to reach those demographics too.

As my son was describing what they put into the ad design, my wife is on the side, “heh???? What that????” So cool that they placed so high for first timers with no practice in that competition, but he did have experience with other Digital Media projects like Hiki No and others. Those guys were all geeks anyway.

Read an article that Moanalua HS trains all year including during their spring break. That’s why they are tough to beat. But not bad for small Neighbor Island schools (including Waiakea HS) They get talent.

    Congrats on your son too.

  17. M says:

I think my son joined the team because it was a couple of nights at the Waikiki Sheraton and for the food. 😆

  18. M says:

    Guud morning MLCers!
Ynaku, our son didn’t do as well as your son in the competition but he learned a lot.

  19. Masako says:

    Good Morning!
@Ynaku – My son is a senior at Kalani. They didn’t place in the competition but he said it was a good experience. His teacher was happy with thier presentation.

  20. Ynaku says:

My son came home last night all burnt out. They had to feature a new product from Meadow Gold. He was told only a couple months ago that they had to go to this competition as part of their Digital Media class. They had to join the DECCA group. No time to practice. Can tell daddy is proud? 😀

  21. Ynaku says:

    Good Morning MLC.

Masako, what school does your son go to? You should have yelled out my son’s name. 😆 He probably will be thinking, :Who that crazy lady.” 😀

Not bad for 1st time yeah? 2nd place for Retail Advertisement at the High School CTE competition at the Waikiki Sheraton not too shabby. Too bad he grad next month but will be taking up Digital Media at HCC.

  22. Seawalker says:

@LK – Hope you win big, Auntie!

If not, the MLCers will book a trip Vegas the week after you. So keep on pumping those machines and keep things warm and ripe for the pickins’ for us. Kidding. 🙂

  23. LINDA KATO says:

Good morning MLCers ❗ Happy Wednesday ❗ 😀

  24. Rodney says:

Just threw this on FB: Where’d you hear this tune?

  25. LINDA KATO says:

    M: Lucky you ❗ Enjoy ❗ 😀

ankes: So if I win MEGA BUCKS you’ll still be in Hawaii to party some more ❗ 😀

  26. ankleBYTERS says:

I’m here for another two weeks….

  27. M says:

    Guud evening MLCers!

I’m off for the rest of the week! 5 days!

  28. DIO says:

    Gooooooooood evening everybody!!

  29. Ukuhead says:

Next Thursday can. Thought you were going back on wednesday.

  30. LINDA KATO says:

Keoni: eating is always a pleasant past time ❗ 😀

  31. Keoni says:

So, now that I’m pau with Block for the year, get time to start doing the things that REALLY count!
Numbah one on da list – Shige’s Saimin. Yep, went up to Wahiawa with a friend, and just had to check out the place. Wow, you guys were right on the money with this one. Had the saimin and burger – ONO!
Next, gotta get to Shimasu. No excuse since I’m so close, right Rod? 🙂

  32. ankleBYTERS says:

How about Turd Thursday – next week ❓

  33. LINDA KATO says:

    Good evening, MLCers ❗ 😀

  34. Kage says:

I could not do turd Tuesday today because I had a meeting scheduled during lunch. It got postponed to next week Tuesday. So I still no can go 🙁

One of these days I will be able to go….

  35. LINDA KATO says:

Have fun without me next week, I’ll be enjoying Vegas for a few days ❗ 😀

  36. Ukuhead says:

Next week Tuesday is good… Where do we do? Who else is planning to show, let us know, so we can make a plan and off we go…

  37. LINDA KATO says:

ankles: I think I can handle that 😆

  38. ankleBYTERS says:

All you need to know is whether your ONE card is higher than the dealer’s ONE card….. 🙂

  39. LINDA KATO says:

ankles: Don’t work too hard this week ❗

I only play slots. I don’t know how to play at the tables or anything that involves a whole lot of thinking ❗ 😆

  40. ankleBYTERS says:

Play WAR ❗ My son and his GF were there for his BD and at many of the casinos, you can play WAR…$10 minimum…he won a couple of hundred $$. If you tie, you have to ante up 1/2 of your bet to receive another card or lose your bet….don’t know what the odds are…has to be better than what Clark Griswold had in Las Vegas Vacation 🙂

  41. ankleBYTERS says:

Darn, can’t make it for TURD Tuesday or Thursday this week…telecommuting …. how about next week?

  42. LINDA KATO says:

TwoFish: this time rather than stick to the penny machine, nickel machine and 25 cent machines I plan to play a variety of machines including the $1’s and $5’s to see if I get luckier. We’ll soon see. Next week Monday will be here before we know it ❗ 😀

  43. TwoFish says:

@LK – I heard that if you give a tip with Jackson’s face to the gal giving change to you, she will point out the machine(s) to play. Do well so that I can read about you in the newspaper.

@Seawalker – yep, still on early retirement. So far, only got one early retirement check.

  44. Kage says:

Hope everyone that needed to got their taxes mailed/sent last night.

    Good Morning All.

Turd Tuesday. Haven’t heard that in a while. No can today… 🙁 too busy.

  45. Seawalker says:

Way too cool picture, Rod. But wait… it looks like when I walked into Sam Goodys this weekend. Lots of oldies, but goodies! LOL 🙂 Nah, it looks more like the Point After. All the old people are sitting down. See, I’m still on the topic of nightclubs from last week. Hehehe.

  46. M says:

I think sally has a pic of NKHEA in his normal pose. 🙂

  47. M says:

    Guud morning MLCers! 🙂

  48. LINDA KATO says:

Good morning MLCers ❗ Happy Tuesday ❗ 😀

  49. LINDA KATO says:

DIO: Everyone at the party was in a happy mood ❗ No depressed people there ❗ 😀

  50. DIO says:

Linda: Thanks for giving me locations of everyone. The reason I was asking about NKHEA is due to his “normal” picture taking pose. If you’ve seen pics of NKHEA on the blog, you’ll understand what I mean. If seeing him doesn’t make you want to smile, you’d better go get yourself checked out for depression.

  51. LINDA KATO says:

DIO: Mr. NKHEA is sitting next to his wife IKHEA but is not in this photo. Opso is sitting next to NKHEA. In front of ankles is M. You have a nice view of his head. Rod was sitting next where M is. Keoni was sitting next to Rod. Hubby is sitting at the bar with his 2 classmates from Kalani. Too bad Rod didn’t take more pictures. In the table behind Kage is where Shauna sat with sally, Auntie Paula etal.

  52. DIO says:

Linda: Thanks for clarifying. I thought that was both Masako and Kage. I’m just wondering why there is no pic of the smiley man, Mr NKHEA. 😀

  53. LINDA KATO says:

DIO: You’re right ❗ I’m sitting in the back of IKHEA in the maroon muumuu. Masako is behind ankles and across from me. Kage is sitting next to me. Fun party ❗ 😀

  54. DIO says:

Rod: cool pic. Unless I’m wrong, there’s ankles and IKHEA in da pic.

  55. LINDA KATO says:

DIO: all kinds of stories tonight ❗ 😀

  56. DIO says:

Ukuhead: I don’t think the Supa Fairy has that kind of range. 😆

  57. Ukuhead says:

Maybe you can pick up ynaku on the way…

  58. DIO says:

Wish I could, but it’s a looooooong way for lunch, longer than for Ynaku.

  59. Ukuhead says:

AB: If you fo real, we can set up something for turd tuesday tomorrow… who’s in???

  60. DIO says:

do things like the Punahou guy in Wash. DC? You mean like hold up traffic everywhere he goes? 😆

  61. Seawalker says:

@ankles – Lived here all my life. Just discovered Sam Goodys at the AMSC this weekend. Good stuff and cheap bargains. Found Kina Grannis, but where was David Choi? Brah, you have to do the Obama thing while you’re here. Stories to tell when you go back home. Have a snow cone at Island Snow in Kailua or perhaps do the Alan Wong dining experience. Me, I would rather go to Shimazu’s and Mix Plate at Rainbow’s Drive-Inn. 🙂

  62. DIO says:

anklebyters: Turd Tuesday would be good, if can.

  63. LINDA KATO says:

Good evening, DIO ❗ Some day in the far far future, you can rest too ❗ 😀

  64. DIO says:

    Good evening Ms. Retiree. 😉

  65. LINDA KATO says:

Good evening ankles and DIO ❗ 😀

  66. DIO says:

Ukuhead: B4 you = NKSEE, B5 you = IKSEE. Hows na maka after all these years? Lasik do the job good?

  67. DIO says:

Ukuhead: Auwe, pua ting you….everybody mistake you for OL. 😆

  68. DIO says:

    Good evening everybody!! 😀

  69. ankleBYTERS says:

    Any planned TURD Tuesday

  70. ankleBYTERS says:

    The Beatles – Taxman

  71. ankleBYTERS says:

I use to use Turbo Tax in the ’90s…didn’t have e-file back then. I then switched to Tax Cut as it was less expensive and I’ve been using it (now H&R) since ’00. Back in MMDs, I would always ask for an extension (sometimes even a second) since we were always waiting for our corps. schedule “K” to be completed.

  72. ankleBYTERS says:

Thanks for the USC shirt…Rodney has your ASU shirt…

I would take the taco wagon over JITB tacos any day ❗

  73. Seawalker says:

@hemajang – Hey, try ax your son if he ever did fixed assets observation or inventory observation at a mortuary. Dead bodies were part of the job.

@TwoFish – Eh, how come no more computer? You still on early retirement? 🙂

@Ynaku – Some of us would die to be bolohead instead of having a beer gut, being short in stature, and sporting a face that only a mother could love. LOL

@Kage – Ho, almost succumbed to buying from a taco wagon today. But I took a look at the prices, $3 and up, and rationalized that the 2 for 99 cents taco deal at J.I.T.B. is way better. Pake!

  74. LINDA KATO says:

    Good evening MLCers ❗ 😀

  75. LINDA KATO says:

hydroman72: see prior blog, sally has lots of posts ❗

  76. hydroman72 says:

Reading all the stuff, something not right…

    Wea Sally??????

  77. LINDA KATO says:

TwoFish: Nice to hear from you. Sorry taxes are stressing you out. We are more organized in our old age and put everything in folders now. Home repairs in one folder, appliances in another, taxes all in one spot, medical in another folder. So much easier to find things when we need it. Hope you get settled in your apt. soon.

Wish me luck in Vegas next week ❗ 😀

  78. TwoFish says:

@Keoni – if you do go Kaimuki Grill, look for coupons online for discount. And with that tip, I hope you will invite me to go eat lunch with you (grin) since I missed out in Saturday’s shindig). If so, pls ask UR for my contact. No mo Internet at home, but I do try to use a resource computer for checking mail midmorning from around 7:30 – 11:45.

  79. TwoFish says:

@Rod, be thankful you have a computer at home, or access to something at work (plus a printer). I tried to copy a pdf to a flash drive, but the computer at home doesn’t recognize the pdf (Adobe version too old?) and thus I walked to the Apple store in the hot afternoon sun.

  80. TwoFish says:

@Keoni – I should have asked LK before attempting to do my taxes. Ho boy. Stressing shmall kine there. I just went to the Apple store to e-file my extension, and I hope it is accepted. In the move, I don’t know who packed the W2, 1099-INT, and student loan info. I have no idea where the paperwork is for someone else’s SSN, and will have to go ask the financial institutions for an additional 1099-INT, as well as the student loan folks.

  81. Ynaku says:

@LK, Ukuhead and I had a connection. He was Fooling around working in the fields above our neighborhood. But i didn’t know him then. 😀

  82. LINDA KATO says:

Ukuhead and Ynaku: you both speak your own language 😆

  83. Ynaku says:

Actually, OL not REALLY Bolohead either. Reminds me of my haircut when I went to Basic Training. 😯 😥

  84. Ynaku says:

    SHOOTS 😀

  85. Ukuhead says:

Ynaku: you should be able for rekanotice me.
    B4 I look like this 😎

    B5 I look like this 😯

  86. Ynaku says:

Hey Uku, I no going rekanoptice you den 😆

Good for you. You more handsome buggah den before…… Not saying you no was handsome before…….And no, I not dat kinda guy 8)

  87. Ukuhead says:

Kage: before LASIK had for wear glasses because I no can look good. But now I look good.

  88. 4G says:

    @LK (April 18th, 2011 at 11:27 am) – 😉

  89. ankleBYTERS says:

My fault for mistaking you for Oceanlover in the previous blog…..sorry…

  90. LINDA KATO says:

4G: and hubby only drank a diet coke, imagine if he had some liquor 😆

  91. LINDA KATO says:

Mike in Wapio: Guess hubby is hard of hearing. He passed that info on to me. When your wife said she did your taxes, he thought she worked for H&R Block. Maybe the Karaoke music was on too loud ❗ 😆

  92. 4G says:

    “Mike in Waipio
    April 18th, 2011 at 11:20 am #

@LK and @Keoni: Sorry, my wife does NOT work for H&R Block. She works in the Admissions office at St. Andrew’s Priory. Linda, you must have been speaking with someone else’s wife (or were you talking with another wife of mine that I don’t know exists?). Another universe? But my wife did our taxes and mailed it Saturday.”

LOL – that must have been some party! 😉

  93. Mike in Waipio says:

@LK and @Keoni: Sorry, my wife does NOT work for H&R Block. She works in the Admissions office at St. Andrew’s Priory. Linda, you must have been speaking with someone else’s wife (or were you talking with another wife of mine that I don’t know exists?). Another universe? But my wife did our taxes and mailed it Saturday.

  94. Kage says:

@Uku – It was the no mo glasses thing. You know like Clark Kent/Superman. 🙂 It was good to see you there.

  95. LINDA KATO says:

M: another party probably while we are in Vegas right ❓ ❗

  96. M says:

I heard we going meet up for some Honey Toast before ankles goes back to AZ.

  97. M says:

LK, uku has hair, it maybe short but not bolos. 😆

  98. LINDA KATO says:

Good morning MLCers ❗ Happy Monday ❗ 😀

This time next week we’ll be finishing our packing to head out to Vegas that evening ❗ Sometimes the anticipation of the trip is more exciting than the trip ❗ We’ll spend some quality time with our daughter from Omaha for a week in Vegas. Fun ❗ 😀

  99. LINDA KATO says:

M: I’m jealous you got your refund already. We’re still waiting. With all the solar tax credits we took the tax return was pretty thick. I think someone is still reading all the pages 😆

  100. LINDA KATO says:

Ynaku: Bruddah Lance said he had to paint his house all weekend so he couldn’t come to the pah-tay! Maybe next time we’ll meet him!

  101. LINDA KATO says:

Ukuhead: We thought the guy sitting with his wife and 2 kids had hair. Next time we’ll check you out more carefully 😆

  102. Ukuhead says:

    Howzit everybody.

Ynaku: had LASIK so no mo glasses. Maybe I do look like OL. 😯

  103. Ynaku says:

    Hey Uku? Howzit going?

This how I remembah da two guys
    Ukuhead – bolohead with glasses
    OL – just bolohead

😆 So what Bruddah Lance made it? You like listen to one LOUD KOREAN ACCOUNTANT? That’s him. Eh Rod, that’s another one you could have tapped for help.

  104. M says:

    Guud morning MLCers!
uku, you still get more hair than OL. lol
We did turbo tax for the first time to this year and didn’t have too much problems. Our refund is in the bank already.

  105. Ynaku says:

Whoa I just saw one pig fly by my window too. Dang too bad didn’t fly to Oahu on Saturday, I could have caught ride. 😆

  106. hemajang says:

eh Rodney, yeah, had to take a one day vacation last week to finish my taxes and pop’s. In my mind, taxes were going to get done in February but kept putting it off and just couldn’t get into tax mode…it is such a pain. I’ve been using Turbo Tax for a while now. Did Tax Cut once when Turbo Tax had some kind of unethical controversy, forgot the details. And went to an accountant many years ago thinking I may miss some tax advantage after purchasing our home. I’m too cheap to pay someone to do something I can do myself. However, I wonder sometimes if a tax service will result in a better refund? I have a schedule C to deal with so it can be a little complicated. Youngest is a CPA but he the audit kind. He was at a large ranch on the big island last week counting cattle…no kidding. His employer is one of the larger accounting firms downtown and I hear they lock the doors during tax season to keep their employees working…just kidding.

  107. Keoni says:

    Now, fo’ real, Good Night.

  108. LINDA KATO says:

Good night MLCers ❗ Pleasant dreams ❗ 😀

Dreaming of Vegas wins ❗ 😀

  109. Keoni says:

    @DiO 😆

  110. Keoni says:

@Linda That sounds like a good idea.

  111. DIO says:

    Keoni: Yeah, it was….kalua pig….. 😆

  112. Keoni says:

Oh sure, the IRS will cut you some slack. Wait, was that a pig that just flew by my window? 🙂

  113. LINDA KATO says:

Keoni: everytime I have a ticket that exceeds $1K hubby asks to hold it and I say, no ❗ Maybe this time I should make him put in in the hotel safe so I can’t touch it ❗ 😆

  114. DIO says:

    Ukuhead: 😆

  115. LINDA KATO says:

Rod: main thing you MET the deadline ❗

    Have a good week ❗ 😀

  116. Ukuhead says:

Dang!!! I had just cut my hair that day, but I didn’t think it was so “short” that people would confuse me with OL… 😛

  117. DIO says:

Rod: Sorry, I don’t think so. not even with omiyage sent along with your taxes. 😉

  118. Rodney says:

Ain’t no beeg ting. I don’t owe – they owe me. And Turbo-Tax has steps for amending taxes. Just that, as I mentioned, I’ll have to print out the amended copy and mail it in.

See, this is the first time I’m using Turbo Tax. And this is the first time I’m doing them myself.

Think the IRS will cut me some slack? LOL

  119. Keoni says:

Now I’m going to bed before I say something else stupid! 😯

  120. Keoni says:

I hope what you may additionally owe isn’t too large.

  121. Keoni says:

Oh, sorry, jumped the gun there, went brain dead too. I’ll try to find an answer on what to do to cover the short-fall in payment tomorrow.

  122. Keoni says:

@Rod You mentioned that you need to amend; so, you’ve already sent your return in? If so, make your best estimate of what you may owe additionally and send that with the 4868 extension form. Like Linda said, don’t stress excessively!

  123. DIO says:

well, since you’ve already e-filed, just make notes of where you think you went wrong, and, if it comes back to you, you know where to look. Otherwise, don’t sweat it.

  124. Rodney says:

I already e-filed my taxes. Until it’s processed and cleared (or rejected), I can’t amend them. And I can’t e-file an amended return so I’ll have to print them out and mail them in.

  125. Keoni says:

@Linda It was the opposite for me – Fed. refund, but had to pay the state! 🙁 I’m mailing their check tomorrow. I hold out as long as I can.
We’ve not heard of any delay like last year on the state. Those that filed electronically have been getting refunds in about 3-4 weeks, but mailed returns always take longer. Hopefully, it will be soon.

Maybe put aside a bit of what you win on each machine that becomes untouchable?

  126. DIO says:

Rod: Do yourself a favor, just file the Extension. No point in stressing it. Also minimizes a chance you do something stupid that gets you flagged for audit.

  127. LINDA KATO says:

Keoni: Do you make house calls ❓ Think Rod needs you NOW ❗ 🙁

  128. LINDA KATO says:

Keoni: our taxes were done in February ❗ We thought we were getting a huge refund but had to PAY Federal taxes so we just mailed the check out on 4/15/11. We do get some back from the State some day. This is the 8th week since we filed it and we are still waiting for a refund check. Think they are HOLDING it until 7/2011 like the prior administration ❓

Would love to take you to lunch if I have a big win and bring some dollars home. I’m famous for putting it ALL back in the machines hoping for that MEGA BUCKS win!!!

  129. Keoni says:

Uh oh, Rod, I theenk you in deep kukae! 🙁

  130. Keoni says:

@DiO Yeah, but all MLC’ers get reduced rate! 😀

  131. Rodney says:

Crap. I think I need to amend my taxes…

  132. Keoni says:

@Rod Or you could always file an extension. (Best if you’re getting a refund, otherwise penalties on any amount unpaid.)

  133. DIO says:

Keoni: does price go up the closer we get to midnight? 😆

  134. NaPueo says:

Better hurry Rodney. You have less than 24hrs to get your federal taxes in.

  135. Keoni says:

Please, don’t all speak at once! 😆

  136. Keoni says:

    Any takers?

  137. Keoni says:

@Linda Since our office closes after tomorrow, that may be the place that I migrate to. Buy lunch for me and I give you tax tips! 😀

  138. LINDA KATO says:

    Keoni: Thanks ❗ 😀

  139. Keoni says:

@Linda Remember the old song, “Lucky Ladybug”? The first lines apply here:

    Ladybug, silver dollar, rabbit’s foot,
With a four-leaf clover and a horse shoe.
    Wishbone, shamrock got me shook,
Singing abracadabra in a cats eye.

    Keep those things in mind!

  140. DIO says:

Keoni: Does this mean if I need tax advice, I should go to the place that serves Kalua pig quesadillas and ask for Keoni? 😆

  141. LINDA KATO says:

Keoni: That’s ok ❗ If I’m really lucky this time, we can plan another party ❗ Wish ❗ Wish ❗ 😀

  142. LINDA KATO says:

Keoni: Yes, for real ❗ Small world indeed ❗ 😀

  143. Keoni says:

@Linda Sorry, not got any tips on Vegas; never been there. Last time I was in a casino was at Caeser’s in Atlantic City years ago.

  144. Keoni says:

@Linda fo’ real about Mrs. Mike? Small world, yeah?
Yeah, Rod, why you wait so long? You owe? 😀

  145. LINDA KATO says:

MLCers: Since Rod is busy doing his taxes, I’ll ask all of you to give me some helpful Vegas tips for next week. Anyone got lucky recently at the Cal ❓ Which machines were fun to play ❓ Will be playing the $1 Treasure Chest rather than the 25 cent one this time (helpful tip from Rod) ❗ Got Vegas on my mind ❗ Can you tell ❗ 😆

  146. Keoni says:

And now about the grinds. ONO! I liked the fried mushrooms and the chicken. I kinda had my eye on the kalua pig quesadillas, but was glad that I didn’t get them this time as we couldn’t finish all the other stuff we had ordered – next time fo sure though!
I remarked to someone during the evening that I was surprised that the place was smaller than what I had imagined, but that makes for an easier time to interact with more people as you don’t have to shout across the room.
I’m also glad that there was no band playing – that’s one thing that gives me an instant headache. (With me, that’s not a MLC thing – it’s always been that way, just can’t take loud sound.) The karaoke was a much better choice.
Ya know, now that I think about it, I may not wait til the next pah-tay to try those quesadillas! 😆

  147. DIO says:

    Woohoo, congrats on FIRST, Keoni.

  148. LINDA KATO says:

Rod: can’t believe you waited until the 11th hour to do your taxes. Did you know Keoni works for H&R Block ❓ You should have brought your tax info to him on Saturday (just kidding) ❗ Mrs. Mike in Waipio also said she works part time for H&R Block. Good people to know!

Thanks for the correction: Ukuhead and family. After a few more parties I should get everyone’s name straight ❗ 😀

  149. Keoni says:

Yeah, we kinda did take over, but there was still room along the back wall. Next time we fill that too, right?

  150. Keoni says:

Oh, by da way, numbah one! 🙂

  151. Keoni says:

Well, somebody gotta start out, might as well be me!
